The "Rider-Waite Tarot" was created in 1910 by Arthur Edward Waite. The illustrations for the cards were done under Waite's guidance by Pamela Colman Smith, an English artist of American origin. The deck's first publisher was William Rider from London, which is why the deck is named after both the publisher and the primary author.
Waite, who was once a member of a mystical order, created this deck to serve as a guide to the unseen. Today, there are more than 100 million copies of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck worldwide. The spreads using the Rider-Waite deck act as a conduit for peering into the unknown through Tarot.

Cups (Chalices) – the Minor Arcana cards of the Tarot associated with the element of Water. In readings, they represent emotions, feelings, and inner experiences. Generally, they carry no negative connotations, but for a more detailed reading, we recommend studying the description and meaning of each card.
The Tarot cards of the Suit of Swords are considered the third suit and represent the element of Air. The Suit of Swords embodies aspects of harshness and relentlessness. At the same time, the element of this suit carries a sense of freshness and clarity, though it can also be sharp and, at times, even merciless.
Minor Arcana of Tarot. The Element of the Suit: Fire. The symbol of the suit is the Wand, which can be used both as a staff to lean on and as a tool of defense against enemies. In Tarot readings, the suit of Wands symbolizes the realm related to a person's daily activities and endeavors.
